Born in Australia, soprano Helena Mamich pursued her undergraduate studies and Master’s degree in Music of Opera singing and Chamber Music at the Australian National University, which she succesfully finished in the class of Dr Paul McMahon in 2015. She has also completed School of Medicine at the University of Split in Croatia.
Helena was the 2014 recipient of the prestigious Christel Larko Scholarship for an outstanding young musician and the Traveling Scholarship from Friends of the School of the Music. In the year 2015, she was the recipient of Kornfled Postgraduate Scholarship for Opera singers and Fankhauser Travelling Scholarship.
She participated in master classes given by David Aronson (Vienna State Opera), Anthony Legge (Opera Australia), Prof. Angelika Luz (HKMD Stuttgart) and Pille Lill (Estonian Opera).
Her repertoire includes operatic roles from operas by Puccini, Verdi and Berg including chamber music from the 20th and the 21st century. Her current activites include pedagogical work, performances as a soloist and performances as a part of chamber trio “Arbor Vitae”.
In the year 2017 she was awarded the Transition Award – Endowment of Excellence from Australian National University for her academic and performance achievements. In 2019, she won Večernjakova Domovnica as the most successful expatriate musician, awarded by the Croatian daily newspaper, Večernji list.
